ABOUT THE JMODO FOUNDATION

Honoring Jay Odom's Legacy

The JMODO Foundation was founded  in honor of Jaqar (JAY) Odom and is dedicated to commemorating the memory of Jaqar affectionately known as Jay, a young man whose life was cut short due to the challenges he faced  with Sickle Cell Anemia. We are passionate about preventing similar tragedies by advocating for improved medical care and support for young adults living with this disease. Our mission is to ensure that every patient receives the treatment they need in times of crisis.

We focus on developing strategies to enhance care during critical transitions, such as moving from pediatric to adult healthcare. Our commitment extends to creating clear protocols for medical facilities to follow, ensuring that no young adult suffers from inadequate treatment due to systemic gaps. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we aspire to make lasting changes in the healthcare landscape for Sickle Cell Anemia.
